Top 5 staffing challenges in 2010

Many companies have identified staffing as one of the most difficult business challenges they will face in 2010. As the economy improves, employers are concerned with maintaining the right staffing levels to meet rising demand, alleviating worker burnout after last year’s motto of doing more with less, and finding qualified people to lead their companies out of this economic downturn. As more jobs slowly become available elsewhere, employers are also concerned with retaining top talent in their firms.

According to a recently released CareerBuilder survey of more than 2,700 employers; below are the top five staffing concerns for 2010:
  • Providing competitive compensation (34 %)
  • Maintaining productivity levels (33 %)
  • Retaining top talent (31 %)
  • Worker burnout (30 %)
  • Providing employees opportunities for upward mobility (25 %)
